Summer usually slows things down—but not for us. In the middle of holiday season, we’ve shipped five product releases across GANTT, RISKSHEET, PLANNINGBOARD, and CHECKLIST, each bringing focused improvements that respond to your feedback and day-to-day needs.
Let’s take a look at what’s new this month! 🚀
Nextedy GANTT
GANTT 25.7.0 – Smoother task creation with better validation and planning support
This release brings multiple improvements to task creation and editing—especially in environments with strict workflows or multi-team planning setups.
🧩 Validation for workflow-required fields
Gantt now treats fields required by the initial workflow action as mandatory—even if they’re not marked as such in the schema. These fields are shown with an asterisk, the Create button is disabled until they are filled, and users receive a clear validation message if anything is missing.
If a save attempt still fails (e.g. due to a hidden required field), the item remains in an unsaved state, allowing users to fix the issue or copy the entered data into a standard Work Item form—preventing data loss and saving time.
📅 Support for editing the Planned In field
The Gantt dialog now lets users edit the Planned In field, with full support for Polarion’s contextual Field filtering. For example, if a Work Package is assigned to “Team Alpha,” the plan list can show only plans relevant to that team—speeding up planning and reducing mistakes.
👥 Improved assignment dialogs
In team assignment use cases, required fields like “Parent” are now visibly marked. The title field is auto-generated from assignee and allocation and no longer editable—reducing confusion and redundant input.
🐞 Workflow validation and scheduling bugs fixed
- Required fields populated via Gantt mappings no longer trigger false validation errors
- Editing tasks no longer resets duration to zero when using start/end mappings
These updates improve clarity, reduce friction in task creation, and help users maintain valid, high-quality data across complex planning scenarios.
GANTT 25.7.1 – Polishing the Experience
This minor update focuses entirely on fixing a few pesky bugs introduced in the previous version. While small, these changes go a long way in keeping your Gantt planning smooth and predictable:
- Work Items not displayed
Fixed an issue where items missing workflow-required fields couldn’t be shown in the Gantt view. - Unnecessary reload prompt
You’ll no longer be asked to confirm a page reload when no changes were actually made. - Graceful handling of broken parent links
Gantt no longer crashes if a Work Item references a deleted or unresolvable parent. - Misaligned marker styling
Fixed visual quirks with resource markers and checkboxes when selecting resource bubbles.
Nextedy PLANNINGBOARD
PLANNINGBOARD 25.7.0 – Smarter Headers and Smoother Editing
After a few quiet months, Planningboard gets a fresh update packed with practical usability improvements and important fixes.
📆 Clearer iteration headers
You can now configure Planningboard to show both the start and end dates in plan headers, giving teams a better sense of iteration duration. Format adapts to the year range and gracefully falls back when no start date is available.
(Enable via nextedy.planningboard.showPlansStartDate=true)
🖱️ Stay where you are after editing
No more losing your place—after editing a Work Item, the board will preserve your scroll position and focus, even on long boards.
🐞 Bug fixes
Capacity bars no longer show incorrect grey space when no capacity is available
Console warning about “sum of multiple values” now correctly handled when plan capacity is defined
Nextedy RISKSHEET
RISKSHEET 25.7.0 – Stability Fix for Global Templates
This release resolves a critical issue affecting setups with global templates:
🛠️ Global template crash fixed
Opening a Risksheet based on a global template no longer causes a server error due to a stack overflow.
Nextedy CHECKLIST
CHECKLIST 25.7.0 – Permission Fix for Safer Reviews
This release delivers an important fix to protect Checklist structure in reviewed states:
🔒 Respect permissions on ‘Clear’ action
Users without admin rights can no longer clear a checklist when structural changes are restricted—ensuring that review-protected checklists remain safe from accidental resets.
This helps teams enforce Definition of Done checklists and other templates with stricter review flows.
